Blind Support Association (BSA) is proud to announce the Urdu Braille Essay Competition 2027, dedicated to promoting creativity, literacy, and accessibility among blind and visually impaired individuals.
Competition Topics
Participants may choose one of the following themes:
- From Margins to Mainstream: The Role of Accessibility in Pakistan’s Future
- Pakistan at 80 Years: Challenges and Opportunities
- Artificial Intelligence: Solving Human Problems or Creating New Challenges?
Submission Guidelines
- Essays must be a minimum of 1200 words, written in Urdu Braille.
- Submissions must be in hard copy embossed Braille; digital entries will not be accepted.
- Deadline: Thursday, 26th November 2026.
- Submission Address: Blind Support Association, Ground Floor, House No. A‑863, Gulshan‑e‑Hadeed Phase 1, Karachi.
Rules
- Thoughts must be clear, well‑structured, and original.
- Language should be fluent and expressive; Braille must be neat and accurate.
- Each submission must include participant details on a separate Braille sheet or attached print slip:
- Full Name
- Father’s Name
- Date of Birth
- NIC Number
- Educational Degree
- School/College/University
- Valid Email Address
- Valid Contact Number
- Postal Address
Prizes & Recognition
- Certificates of Participation will be awarded to all entrants.
- Top three winners will receive cash prizes.
- Winners will be announced on World Braille Day – 4th January 2027 during BSA’s official webinar.
- Selected essays may be published in BSA’s accessible publications to highlight Urdu Braille creativity.
