The Blind Support Association (BSA) extends its profound appreciation to the Government of Sindh on the inauguration of Pakistan’s first dedicated residential facility for children with autism, established under the Centre for Autism Rehabilitation and Training, Sindh (C‑ARTS), in Korangi, Karachi, reported on August 11, 2026 by Dawn.

This pioneering initiative reflects the Sindh Government’s unwavering commitment to inclusion, dignity, and empowerment for persons with disabilities. By providing specialised residential care, therapeutic interventions, education, life‑skills training, and vocational development under one roof, the facility sets a new benchmark for autism services in Pakistan.

On behalf of the BSA, I express heartfelt admiration to the Sindh Government, First Lady Aseefa Bhutto‑Zardari, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, and all stakeholders involved in this transformative step. The announcement of additional C‑ARTS units and inclusive parks across Sindh further demonstrates a vision of a society where every child, regardless of ability, is valued and supported to thrive.

We believe this milestone will inspire hope for families, strengthen community engagement, and serve as a model for inclusive development nationwide.
